BNM’s international reserves up 0.5% to US$104.2b

PETALING JAYA: Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) reserve assets stood at US$104.2 billion (RM430.92 billion) as at Jan 31, 2020 a 0.5% increase from US$103.7 billion (RM428.85 billion) as at Jan 15, 2020.

According to a statement by the central bank, the reserve position is sufficient to finance 7.5 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times total short-term external debt.
