KLCI down 2.7%, ringgit weakens further to 4.4450

PETALING JAYA: The FBM KLCI fell 35.21 points or 2.7% to 1,268.07 points at the midday break today due to the escalating Covid-19 pandemic and oil price slump.

The key index plunged as much as 61.82 points or 4.7% to a low of 1,241.46 points in the morning session.

Brent crude futures was down $1.09, or 4%, to $25.89 a barrel.

The ringgit also weakened 0.9% to 4.4450 as at 12pm against last Friday’s 4.4045.
