KLCI sinks 2.4%, ringgit weakens to 3-year low of 4.4065

PETALING JAYA: The KLCI extended its losses for the sixth trading day, tumbling 29.72 points or 2.4% to 1,209.28 points at the midday break.

The ringgit also weakened 1.1% to 4.4065 against the greenback as at 12pm against yesterday’s 4.3580, the lowest in the past three years.

HLIB Research said in note today that the KLCI could see some mild support today as the European Central bank announced a Pandemic Emergency Purchase Programme worth €750 billion to combat the impact of the coronavirus.

“The trading range of the FBM KLCI will be located around 1,200-1,300.”
