PETALING JAYA: Perodua achieved its highest ever annual sales of 240,341 units in 2019, a 5.8% improvement from 227,243 units recorded in 2018.
Its president and CEO Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad (pix) said that the achievement surpassed its expectations.
“On the back of strong demand, we foresee our sales performance this year to be on par with last year’s,“ he told the media at Perodua’s 2019 Performance Review today.
For 2020, Zainal shared that it has set a cautiously optimistic sales target of 240,000 units despite a more competitive market.
Of the total industry volume of 604,775 units in 2019, Perodua is estimated to have garnered 40% of the market share against 38% in 2018.
