KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia extended yesterday’s gains to opened higher today as the market reacted positively to the government’s RM10 billion special stimulus package targeted at the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the backbone of the country’s economy.
The key index opened 3.96 points firmer at 1,375.62.
At 9.30 a.m. today, there were 349 gainers, 133 losers and 278 counters traded unchanged on the Bursa Malaysia.
The FBM-KLCI was at 1,378.94, up 7.28 points, the FBMACE was at 4,312.79, up 40.66 points, and the FBMEmas was at 9,553.29 up 64.33 points.
Turnover was at 984.477 million shares valued at RM280.272 million. -Bernama
